Storyboards for Beginning Writers
This simple product is a great tool for new writers. When its time to write a narrative story- lay out the story cards and let each student choose a few to add to their storyboard. I recommend laminating the pieces so you can reuse many times. Add velcro dots to each story piece and coordinating velcro dots to the storyboards. When students choose their pieces, have them attach to their storyboards. Then students can keep their storyboard with them to remind them of the characters, things, and settings they chose to be in their story. This can be a fun way to get their creative juices flowing- especially if your students struggle coming up with ideas. They might need assistance to find pieces that would go well in a story together, or creating an interesting story from the pieces they chose. These storyboards provide a way for students to enjoy a very creative writing experience.
